Passport to Summer Blog Hop

Today is the start of the Passport to Summer Blog Hop brought to you by Monica of Taylormadedesigns4u and her Design Team.

Today's Blog Hop is all about the new Taylormadedesigns4u Passport kits - Passport to Paris, Passport to London and Passport to New York. As you hop to each different blog, you will see the creative projects that the design team has created for your crafting inspiration.

I'm so pleased to have been able to work with the Passport to New York kit. Especially since I'm planning to take a trip to New York City this Summer while I'm on the East Coast visiting my daughter and grand children.

As a reward for following the hop, you will have the opportunity to win the Passport kit that is being featured on that particular blog!! You will find the Blog Hop list at the bottom of this post.

Let's take a look at the Passport to New York digital kit that I worked with.

Isn't it just so fun?? I have created a pocket size Traveler's Notebook that I can take along with me to document my trip and I can also add some photos to it after I return home.

Here's a look at my creative process and a flip through of the journal.

First I printed off the digitals and then I trimmed them out, I cut my other papers to size...well, almost, a couple of them came out short lol but I didn't care because I think it adds a lot of interest.

Next I chose my cover image and rounded the corners on my image and all my papers as well as the cover.

Then it was on to my favorite part, creating embellishments and decorating my pages. I used one of the papers in the kit to create a double pocket for some ephemera. I also did some stamping and inking on the pocket. I also created a tuck spot on the back cover from one of the images and I used some of the remaining paper from my cover image to create a tag for the tuck spot. I really wanted to use that brick paper so I created an envelope from it that will save as a place to tuck in some souvenirs. I also used a torn scrap of the brick paper to create a belly band for one page and the rest of the pages are decorated with washi, because, washi hellooooo

Here is a flip through of the final version of my journal. I can't wait to start filling it up with memories.

  5. What a great journal! I'd love to see New York City one day! I had a quick visit a few years ago, but I was just there to take the Greyhound bus from Manhattan Port Authority so I didn't see that much. I love your details!
